Guest Requirements during COVID-19 Pandemic

In order to make your visit as safe and pleasant as possible and to comply with Santa Clara County’s “Mandatory Directive: Personal Care Services” during these challenging times, we have developed the following checklist of requirements for you to make it easy to comply. These requirements will be in effect until the County modified or retracts their Directive.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!
  1. Check, sign and date the Essence Salon Release of Liability Agreement for COVID-19.
  2. Do not come to the salon if in the last 14 days you have tested positive for or experienced symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with another person who has.
  3. In order to reduce potential exposure time, if your service is a haircut only, come to the salon with your hair freshly washed, preferably in the last two hours.
  4. Bring only essential personal items in a single bag or briefcase.
  5. Arrive 5 minutes early and call/text us to let us know you have arrived.
  6. Wait outside until the salon calls/texts you to tell you we have everything prepared just for you.
  7. Answer verbal questions about symptoms, testing and exposure and allow your temperature to be taken prior to entry into the salon. If you answer "Yes" to any of the questions or your temperature is 99.9 degrees or higher, you will not be allowed to enter.
  8. Wear a face mask (at least 3-layers, ear loops, no bandanas, disposable procedure mask preferred) at all times while in the salon.
  9. Wash/sanitize your hands thoroughly upon entry to the salon. Hand washing should be vigorous, producing lather and lasting for at least 20 seconds
  10. Maintain a social distance of 6 feet from other salon guests.
  11. Come alone as only guests with services being performed are allowed in the salon, except if a minor needs to have their parent/guardian present or a person with a disability needs to have a care giver present.
  12. Use only the hand soap/hand sanitizers provided by the salon.
  13. Please ask for assistance to purchase products and do not touch the display shelves.
  14. Make plans to pay with credit or debit card to minimize touching surfaces.
  15. Pay a $5 COVID-19 surcharge on each visit to offset the costs of implementing the protocol.
