Why Is a Pre-Consultation for Hair Coloring Services Important?

A pre-consultation allows us to assess your hair's current color and condition, learn its history, and discuss your preferred look. As part of our pre-consultation process, we send you a survey and request photos of your current hair. Please have a loved one take the pictures from the front, sides, and back, as this provides a clearer visual than a selfie.
This helps us determine the right amount of time needed for your appointment and whether an in-person consultation is necessary. The survey includes questions about your desired hair color—whether blonde, neutral tones like brown, or bold fashion colors—along with whether you’d like to cover grey hair. We also ask about your current and natural hair color, the last time you had it colored (and whether it was done professionally), and whether you’ve ever used henna. Additionally, we request clear photos of your hair in natural light and reference pictures of your desired color. This information allows us to assess your hair’s condition, plan the right techniques, and ensure we achieve your desired results while maintaining hair health.

We use a hair consultation to dive deeper into your hair's history, including details about any past treatments and when you last colored it. Our stylist will also discuss everything from your maintenance preferences to your desired final results. By the end of the hair consultation, you'll clearly understand the time, strategy and budget required to achieve what you want.

Inspiration pictures are the best things to bring to a hair consultation. They provide a clear visual of your expected results rather than strictly relying on descriptions. If you've had previous color treatments and/or haircuts and are hoping for similar results, bringing images from that time can also be helpful.

How Can I Best Communicate My Hair Goals to My Stylist?

Being certain about your hair goals before contacting us is a great starting point for establishing clear communication. The more confident you are in your decisions, the easier it will be to convey your vision to our stylist. 
Bringing hair inspiration photos to show the specific look or color you have in mind is also ideal. Be honest about everything, including how much effort you're willing to put into the maintenance and the date of your most recent haircut and coloring. Discuss all aspects of what you want, such as the texture, length and volume, so your stylist fully understands your expectations.
